The Smassy Backpack

This backpack is lightweight, compact yet is expandable and has room for extra items. The side pockets are useful for water/sports drink or even baby bottles. The material and construction are well done. Love this as my new commute backpack in the city.

Previously on a business trip, I used my Smassy Everyday Bag as a carry-on luggage and it survived the grueling trip unscathed. On another business trip overseas just a couple of weeks ago, I decided to "borrow" my wife's Smassy backpack and try it out during my 10-day trip. On previous trips such as this, I would always use my large backpack because of its capacity and versatility (many compartments and features), but would inevitably end up with shoulder and neck pains for weeks after due to packing the large bag to capacity; this was the impetus for me to try the smaller, lighter Smassy backpack that shouldn't allow me to pack as much stuff, or so I thought... To make a long story short, this Smassy backpack was every bit as strong as my Everyday bag. I tossed it around, tugged on it, and drug it through plane rides, train rides, and car rides. Not a stitch came undone, a zipper got stuck, nor mesh ripped apart. It seemed as if I was discovering a new secret zippered or non-zippered pocket every minute when I started using it, and even after you filled them all, the main compartment still had plenty of room for other stuff even before unzipping the expansion zipper. The low-profile zippered pockets on the back of the backpack provided great privacy and security for my sensitive IDs, documents and monies, while the mesh pockets on the sides provided the perfect places for drinks while hiking up and down stairs in the train station. This Smassy backpack is now mine!

This backpack has so many great functional components and places to put everything! We use it both to go to work and on adventurous hikes around Colorado. The style is clean and sophisticated and we're just so impressed by all details of the bag.

I traveled with this bag and my 2 favorite things were 1. I was able to expand it to hold my bulky carryon items (laptop, snacks, extra layer and cosmetics). Once we landed, we used it as our compact day bag by collapsing it back down. 2. easy-to-access pockets on back - last time I traveled internationally I was pickpocketed. That didnt happen this time because everything important was only accessible from the back (against my back)!

Just took my first trip with this backpack and I couldnt be happier. I bought it to use as a day bag to travel around Europe and it was the perfect size, design, and provided so many easy to use storage features for me to stay organized and quickly access anything I needed. I especially liked the hidden zippered pockets behind the bag for more secure documents like passports, wallets, etc. Its lightweight, very comfortable and looks great. Highly recommended!
